Rules:

  1. Harriston-Minto Agricultural Society’s premise ID: ON4211549
  2. This is an ‘Open Show’
  3. Arrival Time: 7:00 AM – 12:00 NOON Sunday. Facilities available Saturday night at owner’s risk.
  4. Entry fee $5.00/animal (No animal will be allowed to be show without fee payment), includes sheltered ring, hydro and membership. Wash rack facility available.
  5. All prize money is for exhibitor- no deductions.
  6. Registration certificates must be available for checking on the day of the show.
  7. Cattle originating from outside Canada & accompanied by proper certificate to permit entry into Canada will be allowed admittance to the show.
  8. Straw available at a nominal fee. Hay available only if requested when entry is made.
  9. For classification purposes, an entry shall be interpreted as follows: all registered animals whether owned by 1 person or by more than 1 person-individually or jointly, which are maintained on 1 farm or breeding unit except 2 entries/class in maximum of 2 classes will be permitted. In each entry where the same or common interests are involved in more than 1 breeding operation, such operations are considered 1 breeding unit.
  10. All entries must be owned and registered in exhibitor’s name. For group classes, the registration certificate for each animal must show the exhibitor as breeder or joint breeder. Each animal must be part of the same breeding unit, or owned by or jointly owned by the exhibitor.
  11. It is the responsibility of the owner and/or exhibitor of any livestock (dairy or beef cattle, sheep, bison) to ensure that EVERY animal under their care have the required approved tag as per CFIA regulations BEFORE entering our Fairgrounds.
  12. ANY livestock that does not have the required intact/undamaged CFIA approved tag approved identifier will not be allowed entry to our fairgrounds and must leave immediately. If an Agricultural Society is required to provide a tag in the event that an animal loses their tag at the fair, than the owner or exhibitor is responsible for applying the tag and ensuring that it is done in a safe manner. Agricultural Society staff or volunteers MUST NOT apply or assist in applying the tag. Furthermore, the Agricultural Society is not responsible for providing the pliers to apply the tag or facilities to retrain the animal while the owner/exhibitor applies the tag.
  13. All persons attending, being in or upon the grounds of Harriston-Minto Agricultural Society during the days of the fair are hereby notified and warned that the above Society will not be responsible for any accidents that may occur during said days of the show on the said grounds and premises to persons, animals or personal property. All persons attending the show do so at their own individual risk.

All Breed Beef Show – Section 3

  1. Calf
    Female calf born on or after January 1st, 2022
    Minimum 6 months of age on day of judging
  2. Heifer
    Born between April 1st  2021 and December 31st, 2021
    2A. Heifer
    Born between January 1st, 2021 and March 31st, 2021
  3. Cow
    With her own 2022 natural, purebred tattooed calf at food. Female and calf shall be shown as a unit except that the calf is eligible to be shown as a single in classes 7 & 8.
  4. Female
    Born before January 1st, 2021
    With her own 2022 natural, purebred tattooed calf at food. Female and calf shall be shown as a unit except that the calf is eligible to be shown as a single in classes 7 & 8.
    Female Grand Champion
    Prizes: 1st Rosette, 2nd Rosette
  5. Bull
    Born after January 1st, 2021
    Minimum 6 months of age on day of judging.
  6. Bull
    Born between January 1st, 2021 and December 31st, 2021.
    Grand Champion Bull
    Prizes: 1st Rosette, 2nd Rosette
  7. Breeder Herd
    Group of 4 animals
    Bred by exhibitor both sexes represented must be exhibited in previous classes. At least one animal must be owned by the exhibitor. Limit 1 exhibit per exhibitor.
  8. Get of Sire
    Group of 3 animals
    From the same sire both sexes represented. At least 1 animal owned by exhibitor. Limit 1 exhibit per exhibitor. Animals must be shown in previous classes.

North Wellington 4-H Interclub Show – Section 4

Rules:

  1. No entry fee.
  2. Exhibitor must be a 4-H Club member in 2022 and must show the exhibit used in the completion of their club.
  3. Arrival Time: 12:00 NOON and be ready for judging by 1:30 PM.
  4. All prizes won in Inter-club group classes will be paid to the club leader and distributed at the Club’s discretion.
  5. The group system of placing will be used, the top few will be placed individually.
  6. In all Inter-Club classes, there must be at least 3 entries before prize money or awards will be given.

Champion and Reserve Champions rosettes will be provided for all championship classes.
